Since the Baden area has a lot of long driveways, we have made the decision to add 4" Large Diameter Hose (LDH) to our equipment list on the Pumper-Tanker. We now carry 1000' of 4" and 900' of 3" which will allow us to flow water more effectively and have a higher flow rate than before. On Sunday, members came together for our monthly drill and conducted some training exercises with the new hose. We had all units at the station, staffed by volunteers, and on the air to Brandywine so we could utilize a public hydrant system. During the drill we showed the advantages and disadvantages of the new hose. In one evolution we were flowing 2000 gallons per minute. The weather added an additional obstacle, between the cold and some snow. Members trained despite the snow, going with the mindset of "If we fight fire in the snow, we can train in the snow!"
