At 16:34 hours on Saturday, April 11th, the Tanker and Brush truck were alerted, Mutual Aid for a reported Brush Fire off of St. Peter's Church Rd. in Waldorf. The Tanker and Brush truck, along with the Assistant Chief, responded with a total of 4 volunteers. Units from Charles arrived to find approximately 1 acre of field and brush off, started by a lawn mower. Due to the windy day and some difficult access to the rear of the fire, a "2nd alarm" brush dispatch was called for by command. Thanks to the aggressiveness of the 2 Brush trucks from Charles as well as from the Brush crew from Baden, the "2nd alarm assignment" was quickly scaled back as we were able to get ahead of the fire. All units from Baden operated for approximately 1 hour, with the Tanker ensuring all Brush trucks were refilled with water before going back in service.
