On Wednesday, March 25th, at 15:19 hours, Companies were alerted for a reported house fire on Windsor Manor Rd in company 45's first due. E362 arrived to find a 3 story house with a working chimney fire. It was a long driveway, so E362 started a relay operation to get water the the structure, laying out about 800' of 3" supply line and had the next arriving engine continue the lay to the end of the driveway. Crews advanced a 300' 1 3/4" hand line for protection inside the structure and began cleaning out the fire place. Due to the house and roof design it was difficult to gain access to the top of chimney. The crews cleaned out the fireplace, cleaned out the chimney, extinguished the fire in the chimney, checked for extension, and checked with a thermal imaging camera. Upon knowing the situation was under control, the assignment was scaled back. E362 and Tower 20 were the last units on the scene cleaning up their equipment when the home owner spotted some smoke coming from the third floor. E362 and Tower 20 went to investigate when they found light smoke. They called for a Box Alarm and started pulling ceilings where the seat of the fire was located and extinguished. Overhaul was completed and found everything to be clear.
