Today our member and Past Fire Chief Francis Winterwerp passed away. He served Baden and the surrounding communities for many years. He served in almost every operational position in the department to include The Fire Chief for 15 years. He has been recognized for several awards over the years to include being inducted into the Prince Georges County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association Hall of Fame in 2010. In 2013 he was one of 3 recipients to have our new Pumper-Tanker dedicated to them for serving the community for over 40 years and counting of Operational support. He was always willing to help others and big on rural water supply. He will be missed, always remembered and loved by many including his Fire Department family.
